Three choices: 

1) Protest the inauguration of Donald Trump as president.

2) Honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day

3) Do neither.  Erase the white board of the day.

These are false choices.

Choosing to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day is to protest the
inauguration of Donald Trump as president. Honoring MLK Jr. Day means a re-dedication to love over hate; an open hand over a steel fist; enough
for all over too much for some; truths over lies; human rights over The
Great Leader; justice over power grabs; non-violence over violence. 

Trump has chosen to be inaugurated at the Rotunda of the Capitol
building, the site of the violence he helped to incite.

Doing neither? Some life events absorb all our energies: A sick child,
a double or triple shift, a home lost to flames.

A community that honors MLK Jr. also honors the care-takers.
